Full Job Description

Loughborough College is looking to appoint an independent College Governor to join the Corporation Board. The role of the Corporation is to agree and oversee the strategic direction of the College and to drive forward our mission : transforming and enriching lives through lifelong learning, empowering the workforce of tomorrow. You will help to shape the College to ensure that our technical and academic curriculum are at the leading edge, and that the College has the resources to deliver our ambition.

We are specifically seeking to strengthen the team with a candidate with current experience in a senior role with a leading regional, national or multinational employer, or in a similar role with a major employer representative body.

Candidates must be committed to the College's vision and have the ability to work in a team to make collective decisions. Previous experience as a governor or trustee, or in working at a senior level in a related field, would be an advantage.

Volunteering as a Governor is a great way to contribute to your local community, meet new people and improve the lives of the local community. You will develop transferable skills whilst putting existing skills and experience to good use. A programme of training and development for governors is provided. The Board is keen to promote diversity of its membership across all protected characteristics.
