Full Job Description
You will be leading an existing team consisting of Band 4 infant feeding peer support workers and a band 5 volunteer coordinator as well as liaising with Health Visiting and Early Years services.
You will also be involved in wider promotion of breastfeeding in Camden and supporting the aims to maintain UNICEF Baby Friendly accreditation.
The role will suit an individual with excellent organisational skills, as well as specialist knowledge of infant nutrition and peer support supervision experience.
The role will also require ongoing service development, monitoring, evaluation and reporting., The purpose of the role is to be the lead practitioner within the Camden Baby Feeding Team and to provide line management and supervision for the Baby Feeding practitioners ensuring that a person-centred, strengths focused, compassionate and empowering care approach is maintained when delivering infant feeding support to families in Camden.
Our Baby Feeding Service in Camden is part of a well-developed partnership with the London Borough of Camden Early Years' Service and we are presently implementing a new universal pathway for all families in the first 1001 days.
Camden is one of the early implementers of Family Hubs, which brings additional funding for services for families in the first 1001 days (conception to 2 yrs) and encourages services for families with children of all ages to be brought together as part of a Family Hub network.
Across our organisation we have a thriving set of active staff networks to promote inclusion and communication with our diverse workforce (BAME, LGBTQ+, 50+, Disabled Employees, Women's, Carers and Lived Experience of Mental Health) and staff will have access to a range of personal, financial and wellbeingbenefits. CNWL actively supports Agile Working as part of our People Plan.
