Full Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our Estates Team to contribute to the daily operations that keep our school environment safe, clean, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. From maintaining site security and carrying out general maintenance to providing event support and ensuring facilities are operational and tidy, you will be central to our commitment to high service standards.

You will be the first point of contact for estate-related issues, managing tasks through our help desk system and liaising with contractors to resolve problems swiftly. The role involves a range of responsibilities including minor repairs, porterage, decorating, cleaning, and proactive upkeep of the school buildings and grounds. Flexibility is essential, as you¼ be expected to support shift rotations, weekend cover, and school events.

We're looking for someone with sound practical skills, strong communication abilities, and a keen sense of responsibility. A full UK driving licence and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are essential, while a trade qualification or First Aid training would be advantageous. If you are committed to maintaining high standards and enjoy being part of a supportive team, we love to hear from you.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including:

Membership into Local Government Pension Scheme
Family friendly policies and flexible working
Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
Employee wellbeing initiatives
Free parking
Canteen
Company events
Access to various memberships and discount schemes
Learning and development opportunities - including staff development days
Funded subject course development for your role
Range of staff communities, including EDI and neurodiverse communities
Career progression opportunities
