About the Post: We have vacancies within the Strategic Housing service for a Warm Homes Officer to join our team. We are working hard to ensure that everyone in the Borough has a safe, warm and energy efficient home, developing affordable warmth programmes and tackling fuel poverty. As a Warm Homes Officer, you will be involved in the delivery of our fuel poverty initiatives aimed at improving the energy efficiency of homes and providing support and assistance to residents to help them save money on their energy bills. We're looking for someone with a commitment to tackling fuel poverty and health inequalities who has experience of providing energy efficiency or housing advice. You will need strong interpersonal skills and be able to work with some of the Borough's most vulnerable residents to improve their home. You will use your initiative to be pro-active in working with other Council and external partners to make sure that our residents receive the correct support and information on a range of services. You should work well within a team and be able to work independently to promote the initiatives on offer to internal and external front line workers through training sessions. You will be pro-active in organising and leading on a variety of community events across the Borough to engage with residents and provide support for grant applications and signposting to other council services. You will also be involved in the administration and delivery of grant programmes and will represent the team in internal/ external meetings.
