Job Description
Azure Technical Architect - 3-month contract - Fully remote
My client is looking for an experienced Azure Technical Architect to support the design and delivery of Azure infrastructure across multiple project workstreams. This is a hands-on technical role, requiring someone who can work through technical designs and specifications, provide architectural input and supplement the existing Infrastructure Architect and wider technical team. The Azure Architect can work fully remote.
Skills required from the Azure Architect:
- Strong experience designing Azure infrastructure and platforms.
- Proven ability to work through technical designs, architecture documents and technical specifications.
- Strong Azure networking experience, including ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall and general Azure networking.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly Terraform.
- Experience with Azure IAM, including managed identities, permissions and custom roles.
- Good understanding of Azure security and governance principles.
- Experience producing and reviewing technical documentation and designs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work alongside architects, engineers and technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) would be beneficial but is not the primary focus.
Key responsibilities of the Azure Architect:
- Develop and review Azure technical designs and specifications.
- Provide technical architecture input across multiple Azure project workstreams.
- Design and implement Azure infrastructure using Terraform.
- Design and support Azure networking solutions, including ExpressRoute and Azure Firewall.
- Define and implement Azure IAM, managed identities, permissions and custom roles.
- Supplement the existing Infrastructure Architect and technical teams with additional Azure design expertise.
- Ensure solutions align with technical requirements, design standards and security principles.
- Provide hands-on technical support where required throughout implementation.
- Contribute to technical documentation and architectural best practice.
