Full Job Description
We are looking for someone to join us on a part time (30 hours a week) basis. Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. This position is a female only position and driving is an essential skill. About our Service At our Shipton by Beningbrough service we support four young ladies who require different support. These ladies all have a very busy social life and love to go out into the local community and socialise. They love parties, day's out, holidays and love to get involved in any local activities and events that may be happening. We are looking for someone to join our team who is caring, passionate and loves a fun filled busy day with lots of excitement and laughs. Three of the ladies have there own vehicles and so we require a driver that is able to drive these vehicles. What does a Support Worker do? As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
- Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- Excellent communication skills and Relationship building - supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
