As our Support Worker, you'll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex mental health needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. • Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans.
• Customer group - mental health supported housing
• Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
• Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
• Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There's no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too.
• We do not complete personal care within the service, we prompt and encourage the customers to attend to their own personal care and hygiene needs.   Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail.
• Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children.
• The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.
• Recognise every customer is different and you're able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs.
• To get from A to B, you'll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we'll pay your mileage!
  
  Where we're flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
• Work pattern - you will be working within a 24hr service - this will mean that you will be working your share of weekends, late nights and sleep in shift cover.
• Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
• You will have experience with working with vulnerable people and taking initiative to support them to meet their goals.
• You'll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
