Plumbing Technician
37 Hours per week, based in Preston
£34,286.89 per annum (£17.77 per hour)
What will you be doing in this role?
You'll be a part of our Gateway Property Care team, a range of skilled trades people who can carry out planned and responsive maintenance to our housing stock.
What we are looking for in you
We are looking for someone who shares our values and puts our tenants at the heart of all they do. We are looking for a team player with qualifications and experience in all aspects of plumbing, who also has the ability to carry out basic repairs in other trade areas. You'll need a full manual driving licence as you'll be working all over Preston in our communities.
The main things:
- You'll have at least NVQ L2 or equivalent in plumbing and a full manual driving licence.
- You'll have experience in carrying out a range of plumbing maintenance and repairs with an excellent understanding of health and safety.
- You'll have excellent communication skills combined with a flexible 'can do' attitude.
- You'll be able to solve problems and suggest improvements.
Why work at Community Gateway?
Our team are what makes us who we are. We aim for a great employee experience and that includes offering a range of benefits, including a generous holiday allowance, your birthday off, Christmas closure, free parking, free breakfasts, a health cash-plan, reward and recognition scheme and much more. This role provides a company vehicle for work as well as the necessary power tools and PPE.
Inclusion is key for us. We would love to hear from people from diverse backgrounds for this role, and second languages come in handy.
A bit more about us:
Community Gateway own and manage almost 7000 homes across the city of Preston, but we are so much more than just a landlord. We aim to offer great customer service, providing safe, well-maintained and affordable homes, and making a positive difference to the communities in which we work. We make sure that we manage our business to the highest of standards and are working to create a sustainable future.
And finally, we want to be a great place to work….so if you think you have the skills, experience and can live our values, then we want to hear from you.
If you haven't done so already, check out our candidate pack on our website for more about us and top tips for your application.
Dates for your diary:
The closing date for this role is Sunday 8th June 2025 at midnight with interviews expected to be held on Thursday 19th June 2025.
We know interviews aren't everyone's cup of tea (or coffee) so these will be as informal as possible with a focus on your plumbing skills, experience and knowledge as well as how you demonstrate our values.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early so you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
