Full Job Description

This is an exciting time within North Yorkshire Council Educational Psychology service as we drive a period of considerable change. We are a small but growing team within the Council. We are looking for innovative, and solution-orientated psychologists to join us in shaping the direction of our educational psychology service into the future. With a commitment to growing the EP team even further there are opportunities within each of our four localities.

The role

As an educational psychologist you will join our growing central Educational Psychology team, and work alongside a wider multi-agency team, making a valued contribution to developments within the team. Currently our role includes working with our inclusive, additionally resourced settings that are an integral part of identified mainstream schools to embed consistent, inclusive practices. These settings are currently referred to as Targeted Mainstream Provision, TMPs. Support to these settings will be mainly systemic, although casework will also be provided.

We are expanding our offer via new funding streams into more proactive/targeted work developed through the Delivering Better Value projects. Our vision, supported by leadership, is to develop a creative educational psychology offer, underpinned by consultation, empowering others and sustainability.

It really is a superb time to be joining our growing and ambitious service to contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND in North Yorkshire.

What you will bring

To be successful you must be creative and forward-thinking psychologist with the knowledge, skills, enthusiasm and willingness to use psychological frameworks to facilitate positive change. You must have a masters or doctorate level qualification in Educational Psychology and be registered with the HCPC.

These posts are suitable for educational psychologists at any stage in their career, including those due to qualify in September 2025. We welcome applications from experienced educational psychologists, Year 3 and Year 2 trainee educational psychologists and who are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or, in the case of trainee EP's, expecting to have their registration confirmed following the completion of their recognised training course.

The service very much promotes flexible working with the ability to work remotely from other bases, as well as working from home. We provide exceptional technology, providing all the equipment to support home based working to ensure efficient, and effective service delivery.

Salary: From £47,688 up to £57,954 per annum pro rata, plus relocation support up to £8,000.

Grade: Soulbury Scale A. Spine point 3 - 8 plus 3 SPA points

Contract: Permanent
