34 hours per week, 39 weeks per year Required as soon as possible Ofsted tells us that 'new leaders have begun to transform the culture of the school', and there is no better time to join us on our transformative journey. Serving the bustling city of Sheffield, Outwood Academy City has undergone a huge transformation for its 1,200 students in the last 18 months, with an innovative curriculum, personalised approach to learning, and excellent pastoral care that is enabling our young people to realise their vocational, practical, creative and academic abilities. Our students are a really special group of young people, and they are at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our ambitious curriculum, we have worked hard to create an environment where students feel 'safe and well-cared for', and the leadership team plays a key role in implementing and driving forward this culture of kindness, positivity and mutual respect. We are looking for an outstanding individual who is enthusiastic, dynamic and inspirational to join our Inclusion team as a Teaching Assistant. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work closely with members of our Inclusion team and will have the energy and creativity to develop and inspire students' learning and life skills. As part of the role, you will possess the skills to embed and develop students, working proactively with teachers and other members of the Inclusion team. • Take responsibility for a caseload of students inside and outside of the classroom during structured or unstructured time.
  • Deliver intervention programmes to individuals and small groups, preparing relevant and appropriate learning experiences in conjunction with the department staff. A key focus of this work will be around emotional literacy and social skills.
  • Track and monitor student life skill targets and/or EHCP outcomes, discussing progress with parents and agreeing new targets/EHCP outcomes at Interim Reviews.
  • Assess the needs of students and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support students' educational progress and attainment and prepare them for adulthood.
  • As part of a growing multi-academy trust, the successful candidate will be well supported and have access to a range of high-quality professional development through the Outwood Institute of Education. The successful candidate must have both English and Maths Grade C/4 or above GCSE or equivalent. We have won numerous awards as a school and are an IQM Centre of Excellence, which highlights that inclusion at all levels is of paramount importance to us.
