The Executive Director of Teaching and Learning is a pivotal role within our college group, responsible for shaping and driving the educational strategy, pedagogy development, and digital transformation of teaching and learning. This role demands a visionary leader who can implement a strategic vision for pedagogy that aligns with the TEC Partnership's mission and goals. The Executive Director will work closely with academic departments, faculty, and staff to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and the sharing of best practice. They will advocate for and support the integration of educational technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences, ensuring that our classrooms and content are fit for the future. Additionally, the postholder will maintain a support network for teaching staff across all sites within the partnership, fostering a community of practice and equity of experience. A key aspect of this role is the strategic leadership of the Initial Teacher Education (ITE) provision and associated apprenticeships. The Executive Director will ensure high standards of educational delivery and innovation, preparing the best teachers in the sector to deliver excellent learning.

If you are a team player who is passionate about helping learners reach their full potential, then we want to hear from you!, The ideal candidate must be able to design, articulate, and deliver strategic direction and vision in Teaching and Learning. They should possess problem-solving and decision-making skills, the ability to manage a complex and demanding workload, and show resilience and motivation to meet challenges and maintain strategic direction. They will have strong leadership and strategic planning abilities, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills which has transformed teaching and learning in a setting. The candidate should have a deep understanding of current trends and best practices in Further Education (FE) and skills and Higher Education pedagogy. They must be knowledgeable about evidence-based approaches to developing teaching, learning, and assessment, and have proven experience in managing blended learning environments. An understanding of Initial Teacher Education, including preparing for Ofsted, is essential, along with a clear grasp of strategies to improve pedagogical approaches. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of qualifications, specialist knowledge, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this role. Essential qualifications include Level 2/GCSE English and Maths, a Level 5+ teaching qualification, and postgraduate study (Masters or Doctorate). Desirable qualifications include a management qualification, Fellowship of AdvanceHE, and QTLS. Experience in leadership of teaching and learning in a college or college group is crucial. The candidate should have a track record of excellent personal teaching and learning practice, have established an improvement culture that led to significant, sustained improvement. They must be adept at leading and motivating team members, setting goals and targets, providing feedback and coaching, and resolving conflicts. Experience in leading the professional development of colleagues and cross-college leadership of multi-disciplinary teams is also required. The candidate should be innovative in digitally transforming classroom practice and developing digital environments to support learning and learner outcomes. Expertise in curriculum development and instructional design, proficiency in educational technology, and the ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive academic environment are key attributes.
