Be part of the solution….
Join our Housing Resolutions team
Youth Housing Advisor - Teignbridge
Salary - £27,771.89 per annum pro rata based on a 37-hour working week
Based at Newton Abbot Yes and Teignbridge District Council
29.6 hrs a week
From our experience, the main reason young people become homeless in Teignbridge is through relationships breaking down with the family they live with. We offer support when things start to go wrong, through information, advice, advocacy and family mediation, helping them to navigate their situation. We work in partnership with Teignbridge District Council, supporting young people, age 16-25 inclusive of those that are care-experienced, who may have experienced multiple disadvantages.
This role gives you the opportunity to engage and work alongside young people, supporting them to maintain or access accommodation. You will be building relationships of trust and understanding, whilst responding to their needs through a trauma-informed lens. Together, we help them to make decisions, have their voice heard, obtain the services they need and achieve their housing aspirations.
Knowledge on housing protocols, legislation & housing options would be an advantage, however, training will be given for this specialised post. It's a great opportunity to build a career in this sector.
To apply for this role - please request an Application Pack from hr@youngdevon.org.
Please submit your Application Form to hr@youngdevon.org.
Please read the job description and person specification. If you then have any further questions about the role please contact Jenny Lynch on 07706 326815.
