Full Job Description

As our Bricklaying Trainer you will play an essential role in guiding our Apprentices through the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to succeed in the construction industry. You will deliver hands-on, engaging lessons in both our state-of-the-art workshop and in classroom settings. Your expertise will support Apprentices to gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours that are necessary for a successful career in Bricklaying, ensuring that they meet industry standards and are successful at end-point-assessment. You will prepare and deliver lessons, practical demonstrations and assessments while supporting Apprentices in their learning journey, including in the workplace. You will also monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and foster an environment where Apprentices feel confident and motivated to succeed. Safety will be a top priority, and you will ensure that health and safety protocols in practical sessions are consistently delivered. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our Apprentices, preparing them for rewarding careers in the construction industry within a supportive and forward-thinking educational environment.

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bricklaying professional who is passionate about sharing their expertise and supporting Apprentices to achieve their potential. You should have a strong background in the construction industry with hands on experience in techniques such as cavity wall construction, solid walls using different bonds, projecting feature work and decorative panels (including angled work with a sound understanding of industry standards and practices). You'll need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate Apprentices at all levels. As part of the role, you will be expected to perform workplace monitoring visits and engage proactively and professionally with employers. A teaching qualification e.g. PGCE is desirable but if you don't already have one, we will provide support to help you achieve it. We are looking for someone who is organised, adaptable and dedicated to creating a positive learning environment. You should be able to deliver engaging lessons, assess progress effectively and tailor your teaching approach to meet the needs of individual students. A commitment to maintaining a safe and professional workshop environment with a focus on health and safety is essential. Experience in education or training is an advantage but a genuine enthusiasm for developing the next generation of bricklaying professionals is what matters most. If you are approachable, supportive and ready to collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality training, we would love to hear from you.,
