Full Job Description
Beckfoot Hazelbeck School is seeking a committed, caring, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team supporting pupils aged 11-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).This is a highly rewarding role within a specialist secondary setting, where you will support students with complex learning needs, communication difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.A key aspect of this role includes supporting pupils with personal care needs, ensuring dignity, respect, and independence are promoted at all times.Key Responsibilities
Support students aged 11-19 with a range of SEND needs in both classroom and practical settings.Provide one-to-one and small group support to promote learning, independence, and engagement.Assist with the delivery of personalised learning programmes under the direction of teaching staff.Support pupils with personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene, in a safe and respectful manner.Help manage behaviour in line with individual support plans and school policies.Promote communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to support pupil development.Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
