SEN Teaching Assistant – Rainbow Room, Dewsbury, Wakefield


We are looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school team in Dewsbury, Wakefield, working within their nurturing Rainbow Room provision. This role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.


Key responsibilities



  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication and sensory needs

  • Assist in delivering personalised learning activities

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Help create a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment


We are looking for someone who



  • Is patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic

  • Has experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential)

  • Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Is committed to making a difference in childrens lives
