Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 3/4 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the DN1 area on a maternity cover basis for the 2026/2027 academic year. This role offers full class responsibility within Key Stage 2 and would suit a teacher who is confident delivering high-quality teaching while adapting provision to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with SEN.   • Full responsibility for a mixed Year 3/4 class
  • Planning, teaching and assessing in line with the KS2 curriculum
  • Using adaptive teaching strategies to support learners with SEN
  • Working collaboratively with SEND staff to meet individual pupil needs
  • Maintaining a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching within Key Stage 2
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of SEN and inclusive practice
  • Confident in taking on full class responsibility
  • Reflective, proactive and committed to high-quality teaching and learning
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
