About the School

At Huddersfield Grammar School, we pride ourselves on being a highly successful independent school in Yorkshire. Our future-facing curriculum is designed to nurture the next generation of leaders. With exceptional academic results, we place student wellbeing and character development at the heart of everything we do.

Set in beautiful grounds, we provide a caring and supportive environment for children aged 3-16. From the very start of their educational journey in Nursery and Reception, through to the Senior School, our students are inspired to excel.

We offer an enviable co-curricular programme and are renowned for our kindness and inclusivity. We encourage our students to work hard, aspire to high academic standards, and take pride in becoming well-rounded members of both the school and the community.

Role Purpose

We are on the lookout for a reliable, professional, and friendly Home-to-School Driver to join our dedicated transport team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and takes pride in delivering a safe, dependable service.

As one of the first faces our students see each day, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive experience for both students and families while representing our school in the local community.

Working during term time, you will help ensure our transport service operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with transport regulations, providing peace of mind to parents and a smooth journey for our students.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Safely transport students to and from school on designated routes.

  • Complete daily vehicle inspections, defect reporting, and required transport records.

  • Follow planned routes and ensure journeys are delivered safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate passenger registers and transport administration.

  • Support the upkeep and scheduling of vehicle maintenance and servicing requirements.

  • Act as a professional ambassador for the school, building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

What You Will Bring

  • A confident and experienced driver with a valid PSV/PCV Category D1 Licence.

  • In possession of a full UK driving licence, held for at least 24 months.

  • A holder of a current Driver CPC qualification.

  • Friendly, approachable, and able to communicate effectively with both adults and students.

  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working split shifts.

  • Adaptable, organised, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.
