EMEA Senior Strategic Key Account Manager - Industrial Distribution (m / f / x)

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Senior Strategic Key Account Manager to manage and grow relationships with major international industrial distributors across Europe. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, developing strategic growth opportunities, and building strong partnerships with key distributor customers. You will work closely with 3M commercial, marketing, channel, and business teams across multiple European countries to deliver growth and ensure strong execution of customer plans. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Own and drive sales performance for assigned strategic distributor accounts across Europe.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior customer contacts and key decision-makers.
• Identify and execute strategic growth opportunities across product categories, markets, and countries.
• Build and implement account plans using Salesforce or similar customer relationship management tools.
• Lead customer negotiations, including larger contracts and service-level agreements, with a focus on sustainable, mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Work closely with 3M sales, channel, marketing, and business teams to align priorities and drive execution.
• Translate account strategies into clear actions for cross-functional teams and local country organizations.
• Influence internal and external stakeholders to support key sales programs and growth initiatives.
• Analyze customer sales data, market trends, and business performance to support decision-making.
• Share best practices and collaborate with other sales leaders to improve overall channel performance.
• Contribute to channel strategy by identifying opportunities with existing and potential distributor partners.
• Engage with regional and global teams to ensure consistent customer management and strategic alignment.
  
  Proven experience in strategic key account management, ideally with large international distributors or channel partners.
• Strong understanding of industrial distribution, channel sales, and business-to-business customer management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounts across multiple European countries.
• Strong commercial mindset with a proactive, results-oriented approach.
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Experience using Salesforce or a similar customer relationship management system.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use sales and market data to identify opportunities and drive action.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in an international environment with diverse cultures, languages, and business practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing business environment.
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
• Experience working with major industrial distributors across Europe.
• Knowledge of industrial product categories, end-user markets, and channel dynamics.
• Experience developing and executing joint business plans with strategic customers.
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to translate insights into commercial actions.
• Experience working in a matrix organization across multiple countries and functions.
