Full Job Description

As an experienced EMC Laboratory Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and executing EMC test programmes, supporting customers throughout the certification process, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality and technical excellence.

  • Conduct EMC testing on a wide range of products requiring certification to national and international standards.
  • Operate and maintain EMC test equipment, including test receivers, spectrum analysers, signal generators, antennas, and associated laboratory systems.
  • Interpret standards and test requirements to ensure accurate execution of test programmes.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports that clearly document test methods, results, observations, and conclusions.
  • Maintain accurate project records and update company systems with testing progress and project status.
  • Support laboratory maintenance, calibration activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for customers, providing project updates and explaining test results professionally and confidently.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Engineering, Laboratory Operations, Sales, and Project Management teams.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet customer expectations for quality and service.
  • We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused engineer who combines strong technical EMC knowledge with a passion for technology and problem solving.

    We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' EMC testing experience gained within a commercial test laboratory, certification body, manufacturer, or similar technical environment. You will have a strong understanding of EMC testing methodologies and standards, along with hands-on experience testing electronic and wireless products.,
  • A minimum of 5 years' hands-on EMC testing experience in a commercial laboratory, certification, or product development environment.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of EMC standards and testing methodologies.
  • Experience testing consumer electronics, industrial products, wireless devices, or similar technologies.
  • Working knowledge of radio technologies such as cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth, and IoT devices.
  • Experience using EMC and RF test equipment, including spectrum analysers, signal generators, receivers, and associated software tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high levels of quality and customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to technical accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
