Dance Specialist

Join First Step Physical Education as a Dance Specialist, delivering inspiring, structured dance sessions to primary school pupils on a salaried basis across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire from September 2026., We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dance Specialist to work with our partner primary schools, delivering high-quality dance sessions that build pupils' coordination, confidence and love of performing arts. You will plan and deliver a range of dance styles and themed lessons, teaching the same groups each term so you can track progress and build strong relationships with pupils. Responsibilities:

• Deliver dance lessons and a variety of sports to primary school aged pupils
• Plan and adapt schemes of work across a range of dance styles
• Assess and record pupil progress each term
• Be assertive, engaging and respected by pupils
• Demonstrate professionalism when working with school staff and parents
• Travel to various school sites across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire areas
  
  A dance teaching qualification or equivalent
• Minimum one year's teaching/coaching experience
• Experience creating and following lesson plans
• An interest in delivering other areas of the PE curriculum (Gymnastics, Games, OAA, Athletics)
• GCSE Maths and English
• First Aid and Child Protection training (training can be provided)
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport, as travel between sites is required
