Our client, a well-established automotive workshop in Yeovil, Somerset, is seeking a skilled Bodyshop MET Technician to join their professional team.   • Duties of the MET Technician:
  • Accurately dismantle and reassemble vehicles in accordance with repair estimates and manufacturer guidelines Refit and reconnect electrical, mechanical, and trim components with precision and attention to detail Support the inspection process by identifying additional damage or parts requirements during dismantling and repair stages Ensure all vehicle repairs meet high technical and cosmetic standards Check parts availability, match repairs accurately to estimates, and manage unused components appropriately Conduct thorough quality checks and safety inspections prior to vehicle handover Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety standards Identify and report discrepancies or additional repair needs during the process Assist the workshop team in meeting deadlines and maintaining efficiency as an MET Technician Follow all health and safety policies, use PPE correctly, and promote

    Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years' experience in vehicle dismantling and reassembly within an accident repair environment Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle components Ability to interpret repair estimates, technical instructions, and manufacturer guidelines Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality Capable of working independently and as part of a team Good understanding of health and safety responsibilities in the workshop environment IMI accreditation in MET is highly desirable Experience in a bodyshop or accident repair centre advantageous Familiarity with modern vehicle systems and repair procedures preferred
