The post holder will work as part of a dedicated team of Biomedical Scientists and Associate Practitioners within the Chemical Pathology department, delivering a high-quality, efficient and responsive diagnostic service in line with MKUH values of

The post holder will

Aways promote GDP (Good Distribution Practice) which requires us to "ensure that storage conditions are observed at all times, including during transportation"

The use and demonstrate proficiency of all analytical equipment within the department.

To follow written standard operating procedures (SOPs) read all relevant SOPs and acknowledge on Q Pulse in a timely manner.

Maintenance of all analytical equipment within the department and those Point of Care Testing devices controlled by the department.

To perform maintenance on all analytical equipment, ensuring the highest standard of performance

To run Internal Quality Controls through analysers.

To load samples onto analytical equipment and thus produce high quality results whilst ensuring sample integrity, i.e. looking for haemolysed, clotted or underfilled specimens.

To maintain and record performance of automatic pipettes in accordance with UKAS requirements.

To monitor and record sample storage environmental conditions in accordance with UKAS requirements.

Refer more complex / difficult issues to Biomedical Scientists.
