Full Job Description

Due to the expansion of our service, an opportunity has arisen to join the small, friendly administrative team of RRPPS's Approved Dosimetry Service.

RRPPS is the Radiation Protection Service of University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We provide the full range of medical physics and radiation protection services to UHBFT and external customers, including an HSE-approved Approved Dosimetry Service (ADS). The ADS provides monitoring "badges" to staff working with radiation; these are worn for a period then returned to be read and reported.

Main duties of the job

Preparing dosemeters; issuing them to customers and receiving them back at the end of the monitoring period

Packaging and posting dosemeters in a timely fashion each month.

Receipting and processing large amounts of post daily.

Updating the bespoke ADS database; sending out dose reports; and dealing with customer queries via telephone and email

Using multiple office software for data input requiring attention to detail.

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust strives to have an inclusive culture where everyone feels like they belong, can thrive, knows that they add value and feels valued. We do this by developing compassionate and culturally competent leaders, being values driven in all that we do and by creating a welcoming and inclusive workplace that thrives on the diversity of our people. As such we want to attract and recruit talented individuals from all backgrounds, and for each of you to feel supported for the diversity you bring, to achieve your full potential. For those staff with a disability, including physical disability, long term health condition, mental health or neurodiverse condition, this also means being committed to making reasonable adjustments needed for you to carry out your role.
