Associate Engineer R&D, Vision Systems (Graduate level role)

The role of the Associate Engineer (Vision Systems) is to provide support and assistance with Engineering and Systems projects, with a focus on Vision systems. Work could include the development of inspection systems, including vision programming, running trials on manufacturing equipment, collecting and analysing data and writing reports. The main focus will be around the development and implementation of Vision Systems with our bespoke equipment, and manufacturing and test processes., Any employment offer made by Abbott is contingent upon you obtaining and maintaining the right to work and reside legally in the UK. You will need to have completed a Degree level qualification in a relevant Engineering, Scientific or Technology discipline, and ideally bring engineering/technical experience, for example understanding technical drawings, problem solving, use of CAD systems, designing tests and experiments. Over time, Abbott will support your development in Vision Systems expertise, and we would therefore welcome applications from people keen to develop this specialist skill set.

We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the design and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a valued member of a highly multi-skilled Development Engineering team working with brand new state-of-the-art equipment from benchtop protypes to full-scale production systems. Engineering skill is key to us, with members working in areas including Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Controls Engineering including Machine vision. We also have our own fully equipped workshop.
