Full Job Description

The Senior Assistant plays a key role in the smooth running of the Digital Mail Centre, overseeing and operating a wide range of production and document-handling equipment. This includes commercial printers, mail inserters, high-volume scanners, data-entry systems, and other print/post machinery, alongside the use of various in-house software platforms. Daily production requirements vary, so the role demands a high level of flexibility, the ability to adapt quickly, and a commitment to maintaining consistent, high-quality output even during repetitive or high-volume tasks. Supervisory Tasks: You'll be overseeing /handling/processing commercial printers, mail inserters, scanners, data entry, other print/post equipment and use of various in-house software, based at Digital Mail Centre. The production jobs could vary from day to day so high level of flexibility is required. When conducting repetitive tasks, a high-quality service is achieved each time/every time. To operate production machinery as and when required. Responsibilities

  • Workflow Management: Candidate must be able to communicate with staff to monitor, set daily/weekly, and monthly work tasks. To ensure we meet customer SLA's.
  • Team Supervision: Candidate must be able to organise workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing work plans/shifts, coach new /existing employees, by effectively reporting reports on time. Enforcing the safety guidelines of the workplace. To complete relevant Risk Assessments.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for efficient ways of working. Implement any required improvements.
  • Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts between 7am to 7pm, including weekends, bank holidays, and out-of-office hours as per business requirements.
  • Professionalism: To adhere to BCC code of conduct, DMC ISO guidelines, behaviour, and values. To always work with a professional manner.
  • Required Skills: Ability to stay focused, good at retaining information, work under pressure, display good organisation skills and prioritise workload in line with office policy and work on own initiative with team when necessary. Good IT and numerical skills. Demonstrate a good understanding of Word and Excel. Candidate must be able to utilise inhouse software to create new document templates/ time management system. To be willing to learn and demonstrate Continuous Professional Development.
  • Team Collaboration: Display the ability to communicate and collaborating well with team members/colleagues/managers/senior management.
