Were seeking a friendly, motivated and well-organised Stores Person to join our client in Bury St Edmunds on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to join an established firm with a real family feel to them, thanks to their friendly workforce and the way in which they look after their staff.

 

Our client have been trading for over 20 years and are a global leader in supplying processing and packaging machinery to the food industry. They are a stable company, with around 25 members of staff; and have a large, well-kept facility to work within.

 

In this role, youd be responsible for looking after the Stores department, as well as general engineering administration too. An organised approach and good IT and written skills are a must! Other duties involve:

 

  • Effectively managing the stores area, maintaining stock and re-ordering parts and spares as necessary
  • Liaising with the Engineering Manager and Factory Manager
  • Ensuring stock records are kept accurately
  • Ensuring stock is kept secure and records are updated and accurate
  • Offering general assistance on the shop floor and in the yard helping with movement of parts/machines, assisting with deliveries, unloading and loading, packaging up machines etc.
  • Offering any other ad-hoc assistance to the Engineering Manager as requested

 

Were seeking the following skills and attributes:

  • Ideally a full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Good IT skills experience using Word, Excel and Outlook as well as computerised stock control systems
  • Ability to work quickly, be flexible, and enjoy being on your feet, completing a wide range of tasks
  • A can-do and proactive attitude i.e. if you have a short to-do list, find something that can be done or ask what else can I do to help; showing initiative and enthusiasm!
  • Good standard of English both verbal and written
  • Good people skills and professionalism a strong team player with ability to easily get along well with others, whether they be colleagues, customers or suppliers
