The role: we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Structural Engineer you will play a lead role in the preparation of structural designs (including connections) for our agricultural, commercial, and industrial buildings. This will be a challenging role requiring a high degree of technical skill and dedication. An in depth and strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards is essential, along with use of CAD systems and design software applications.

The Responsibilities of the role: the main responsibilities of the role will include, but not necessarily be limited to: -

Produce structural designs and calculations for a diverse range of structures including agricultural, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Produce detailed structural designs and calculations for all steelwork connections, including base plates, H D Bolts specifications/configurations, and base foundations.

Provide technical and sustainability review/advice and to undertake Value Engineering calculations for projects where design intent may already exist, both pre and post tender.

Engage with Consulting Engineers and Architects, and attend meetings as required.

Provide an effective technical support and advice role to the Company’s CAD Technicians and fabrication workshop.

Ability to proficiently use industry standard steelwork software packages, such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Structures, IDEA Statica and Masterkey Joints etc.

What you will need: the ideal candidate will be an experienced and qualified structural engineer, either from a previous steelwork manufacturing background, or with a desire to use their design and business development skills outside of mainstream consulting engineering.
