- Key to our success is working with our residents, partners, businesses and organisations and building these partnerships to bring about change in Barnsley.About the Post:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent part time post of Advanced Social Work Practitioner in the Adult Mental Health Social Work Team. The team consists of qualified social workers some of which also hold Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) and Best Interest Assessor (BIA) status. Staff carry out assessments, formulate care plan's, reviews including s117 aftercare reviews, social supervisor responsibilities, social circumstance reports for people who are detained under s.2 of the Mental Health Act 1983 who have lodged an appeal, in addition to attending Tribunals. They will work within the legal frameworks that underpin Adult Social Care Practice, for example, The Care Act, Safeguarding Adults, Making Safeguarding Personal, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.The role requires a confident individual who can continue to build on the positive close working relationships with adults experiencing poor mental health (complex and noncomplex), their families and carers, Barnsley Integrated Commissioning Board, Health and Housing colleagues, and other associated professionals.The role also includes sharing management responsibilities with the Manager and the other Advanced Social Work Practitioner's by undertaking supervision, authorising care plans, allocating work, acting as a safeguarding manager, providing advice, support and direction to team members.AMHP qualification is desirable but not essential.Please use the documents below to help support you with your application form.Job Profile:Vacancy Exposure Profile:Please ensure you view the job profile for this role, as you will need to demonstrate in your application form how you meet the required criteria.We welcome the opportunity to have a chat about the role and are happy to address any questions you may have about flexible working arrangements, including as a result of caring responsibilities.We're committed to creating a workplace where differences are valued and everyone truly feels able to be themselves.
