Full Job Description
In this role you will be supporting the development of products and measurement techniques that meet customer requirements. This will include completing concept designs, design development, validation and providing technical support for the manufacture of cryogenic / measurement systems and sub-assemblies. As part of the validation process, you will provide detailed test documentation (in conjunction with other departments), define test procedures, interpret data and write reports, as well as ensuring that we stay compliant with applicable regulatory standards.
To be effective in this role you will need to be able to understand the needs of the customer requirements and the challenges of their measurements. It would also be beneficial if you have prior knowledge of cryogenic systems and an appreciation of magnetic fields. The ideal candidate is likely to have a PhD in physical sciences, or a degree in a relevant subject with extensive experience of experiment design and automation of measurements at low temperatures. The ability to communicate effectively with others is essential, together with excellent problem-solving and team working skills.
Benefits
In addition to a competitive starting salary, Oxford Instruments offers flexible working hours and a half-day on Fridays. We also offer 25 days annual leave, private healthcare, a share incentive plan, a defined contribution Group Personal Pension Plan, and a flexible benefits package that you can tailor to your own requirements.
