Full Job Description

Joints SC PMO, SI&D is recruiting for a Project Planning Specialist, global role located in Raynham, MA; Warsaw, IN; Cork, Ireland; Suzhou, China; Blackpool/ Leeds, UK. The PMO Project Planning Specialist will oversee the planning phase of key strategic projects within the JOINTS Portfolio, and will be responsible for the development, systematic implementation, and training in scheduling methodology and tools, in conjunction with coordinating the project scheduling team to ensure expert scheduler support is provided for complex business critical projects.,

  • Owns contracts and coordinates the hiring, management, motivation, and development of Project Schedulers in a manner that will facilitate high performance in line with J & J Standards of leadership.
  • Implements a consistent project scheduling process across the Joints Platform to ensure that the execution and control of Capital Projects with investment > than $200k is tracked through fully integrated risk assessed schedules stored on a central platform that facilitates dynamic digital reporting.
  • Conducts training on project planning and scheduling tools to enhance organizational expertise, improve project management efficiency, and equip Project Leads with essential skills for superior project execution and performance.
  • Manages schedule development for key strategic projects when required:
  • Analysis and synthesis of information from Project Team and external sources into integrated schedules.
  • Qualitative analysis of project schedules to ensure Critical Path integrity.
  • Analysis of critical path and constraints. Work with teams to refine schedules, identify and suggest options, test "what-if" scenarios.
  • Analysis and direction on estimated duration of scheduled tasks using best tools and techniques for consistent predictions of project timelines, allowing for better budgeting, resource allocation and scheduling.
  • Schedule Risk Assessment and Monte Carlo Analysis to drive proactive risk mitigation planning
  • Implementation and use of mechanisms to measure, record and report progress of activities in relation to the agreed schedule and plans
  • (e.g. S-Curves).
  • Regular analysis of options to identify variances and forecast the impact of changes on the schedule. Identification of priorities for escalation.
  • Schedule compression techniques to reduce delays.
  • Drives improvements to project planning methodology and tools - continuous business and user assessments of new tools with implementation of industry standards in project controls.
  • Coordinates and leads clear and effective communication between the global scheduling team and other departments.
  • Coordinates the sharing of insights, lessons learned and standard methodologies from the global scheduling team with other relevant departments to continuously drive the highest standards of project planning and execution control.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, they are responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

    A minimum of a bachelor's degree required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Data Science or related field highly preferred.
  • Experience and Skills: Required:
  • Expertise in scheduling tools (MS Project or Primavera P6).
  • Demonstrate high levels of theoretical knowledge with practical application of planning & scheduling.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in project planning, control and management.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to lead and influence across functions.
  • Project management experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in evaluating and determining risks required.
  • Preferred:
  • Data Analytical capability is preferred.

  • Up to 10% of travel both domestically and internationally is required.
