Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Principal CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) Engineer, reporting directly to CSA Department Lead to join our Engineering team based in either London or Milton Keynes., Responsible for all Civil, Structural and Architectural engineering activities on a project, which could be a pre-FEED, FEED or EPC, by leading a team of Discipline Engineers/ Designers, both staff and contract, and by coordinating with other disciplines, departments and external agencies. Additionally, responsible for ensuring the engineering activities are executed in accordance with department and project requirements. Although the Principal CSA Engineer reports functionally to the CSA Department Manager, depending on the need they could also be responsible for all the engineering activities related to a limited project scope reporting to the Project Lead CSA Engineer, and must be capable of directly performing engineering tasks as required. Responsibilities The main responsibilities include the following, however the role holder may be required to perform other tasks as directed by project / project engineering management and CSA Department Manager, within their capabilities:
- Is responsible for all the CSA engineering work within a project, including planning, allocating, monitoring and supervising deliverable production by team members
- Is responsible for monitoring key CSA quantities on the project identifying trends and limiting any escalation
- Is responsible to ensure the project execution is in compliance with T.EN quality requirements
- Is responsible for day-to-day management and administration of the CSA team on a project
- Is responsible for overseeing the production of MTOs and providing Estimating with the input required to produce cost estimates
- Resolve complex and high-profile technical challenges while effectively engaging with project engineers, management teams, clients, and senior leadership
- Supervises internal/external subcontracted engineering activities as per project execution and surveillance plan
- Checks and/or approves discipline deliverables as necessary
- Review contract to identify gaps against proposal and seeks resolution with project management
- Raises Technical Queries and/or Requests for Information as required
- Identify changes on projects by following the project management of change procedure
- Identifies technical risk & opportunities to cope with project objectives in terms of cost, quality, and schedule
- Coordinates with other engineering, process/HSED disciplines, procurement, construction, subcontract, commissioning groups, and other project supports for the discipline's activities, to maintain efficient flow paths of data
- Reviews discipline performance on project and liaises with the project management team on a regular basis, and provides improvement plans as necessary
- Provides mentoring support as necessary
- Participates in project workshops and design/model reviews and provides the required CSA input
- Provide support to other disciplines such as construction, procurement, quality etc. as required
- Oversees project execution and ensures project close out and lessons learned are performed and discipline data is stored/archived and indexed but remains available
- Supports the CSA Department Manager in developing and maintaining departmental procedures and guidelines, through recruitment processes and in development of proposals
We'd love to hear from you and how you match this position. To be successful in this mission you should consider the following requirements: - Experience in design and execution of projects as CSA project discipline lead in conventional energy projects or new energy transition projects
- Experience in leading teams located in various locations within a global workshare scenario
- Familiarity with all technical aspects of the CSA discipline and specialist in specific areas
- Demonstrable UK experience - with strong knowledge of applicable European / British codes and standards
- Fluency in English language with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations
- Proficient in main engineering software used within the CSA discipline such as STAAD.Pro, Mat3D, Autocad, Navisworks, Revit, etc.
- Capable of developing scopes of work for third parties such as geotechnical contractors, design and build companies, external consultants, etc.
- Being flexible to work on several projects simultaneously, if required
- Ability to travel to project sites and other T.EN offices as required Qualifications: Key Skills
