Full Job Description
The Category Procurement Specialist provides support to the procurement manager and wider category team in delivering against procurement & supply chain strategies for a specific sub-category and business areas. The category area for this role will be APIs. Role Responsibility So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
- Supports Category Manager in execution and implementation of Category global sourcing strategy for the API's, working across functions, regions, and Manufacturing sites to understand and define business requirements, respond to changes
- Contributes to the overall Strategy Activities, responsible for the global sub-categories
- Applies procurement best practices to identify and deliver a sustained year-on-year pipeline of opportunities within.
- Participates in the sourcing strategy setting up and implements category Strategy to ensure short, mid, and long-term objectives. Ensure compliance and security of supply for the category, proactively identifying and mitigating all forms of risk to quality, service, and cost. Provide oversight for compliance programs necessary when working with suppliers.
- Actively seeks and delivers cost and process improvement projects. Supports the business prioritisation and implementation.
- Proactively partners and aligns with the Manufacturing, Product Development, Regulatory, QC and Global Supply site teams, as well as support functions to ensure delivery of the strategic and operational needs of the business. Guarantees operational performance by being a pro-active business partner.
- Responsible for continuously gathering Market Intelligence to ensure market competitiveness and transparency of current terms of cooperation with suppliers.
The Candidate Experienced procurement professional with min. 5 years of experience in an international manufacturing organisation working with chemical materials (APIs, excipients, coformulants, inerts, etc) - In-depth knowledge of procurement systems and best practices
- Working knowledge of multi-site ERP systems
- Strong knowledge of suppliers, market and environment
- A proven track record of building strong external and internal relations based on trust
- Proven negotiation skills
- Strong team player and collaboration skills on an international level. We also require:
- Fluent English communication skills: written and spoken Pro-active and solutions drive with the ability to work to strict deadlines with a high level of accuracy Proven effective communicator across all levels with an ability to create a collaborative work environment Highly organized and detail oriented Experience of developing procurement strategies Certified Purchasing Specialist (CIPS, NEVI) or a Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences or supply chain management.
