We're looking for a HR Business Partner to join our Nations HR team, with a dedicated focus on supporting BBC Cymru Wales. In this key role, you'll work closely with leaders to shape and deliver the People strategy, while also contributing to key pan-Nations initiatives. You'll play an essential part in shaping and enabling an inclusive, high-performing culture and ensuring BBC Wales continues to be a great place to work.   • Contribute to, and where accountable, define policies and processes that support the BBC and divisional strategy and objectives.
  • Use and understand BBC tools and policies, engaging with divisional clients effectively to ensure their use across the organisation.
  • Coach and build the capability of senior managers to anticipate and pre-empt organisational issues.
  • Participate in projects, leading and promoting, as appropriate (divisional and/or pan-BBC), the BBC's reputation as a global organisation and employer of choice.
  • Use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of tools and policies and understand the landscape for further improvement.
  • Be an ambassador for the function and represent the BBC HR internally and externally.

    Extensive experience of operating in a business partner model, working with leaders to create positive business outcomes.
  • Communicates challenges and influences a variety of stakeholders effectively. Ability to present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others. Can draw from a range of strategies to persuade people in away that results in agreement or behaviour change.
  • Adapts and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups. Is able to understand and appreciate different perspectives on an issue, to adapt an approach as the requirements of a situation change, to change or easily accept
  • changes in one's own organisation or job requirements.
  • Maintains a calm and effective approach when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Able to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts, explore and evaluate them systematically.
  • Able to identify causal relationships and construct frameworks, for decision making and problem-solving. Transforms proposals/ideas into practical reality.
  • Understand the value drivers of the BBC and is commercially aware.

    CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time, Fixed-term / Attachment to end of January 2026. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. DEPARTMENT: Nations HR Team LOCATION: Office base can be any of the main Hubs. (Cardiff, Salford, Birmingham, Belfast, Glasgow or London). If based outside of Cardiff, will require regular travel to Cardiff as required. This is a hybrid role, offering a balance of office-based and remote working. PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £60,000 - £75,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. We're happy to discuss flexible working. If you'd like to, please indicate your preference in the application - though there's no obligation to do so now. Flexible working will be part of the discussion at offer stage.
