A fantastic opportunity to work on one of BBC Wales' flagship productions: Weatherman Walking.,

• Write engaging filming scripts with PTCs, contributors, and actuality for 60-minute programmes.
• Direct crews on location, ensuring creative vision and production quality are met.
• Craft compelling narratives in post-production, writing voiceovers and shaping story arcs.
• Collaborate closely with editors and production teams to deliver high-quality content on time and within budget.
• Plan and organise shoots with precision, keeping projects on schedule and aligned with production goals.
• Direct (preferably self-shoot but not essential) a series of short VTs, working closely with talent including reporters and presenters.
• Ensure all content adheres to strict compliance and safeguarding protocols.
• Act as the Safeguarding Lead on production, with a potential requirement for a DBS check.
  
  BBC Studios is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Producer/Director to join our team in making a Weatherman Walking Children In Need Special.
The role involves strong editorial and creative skills including scripting, writing PTC's and directing talent and crew. Self-shooting is desirable but not essential. You will be working with vulnerable contributors, so effective people and communication skills are vital. VO writing and edit producing skills are also a key part of the role, you will see the film through to the edit. Base: Cardiff. You will be required to work a minimum 3 days a week in our Roath Lock Cardiff production office/edit, when not filming around Wales. Start Date: 1st of July for approx. 15 weeks.,
• Proven experience working with on-screen talent in a sensitive and professional manner.
• Strong background in compliance and safeguarding, ideally in roles involving vulnerable contributors.
• Experience working in small production teams with a flexible, can-do attitude.
• Excellent knowledge of Wales and its communities, culture, and geography.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
• Previous experience working on BBC Children in Need or similar charitable programming
