Full Job Description
We are seeking a Research Assistant to join The Oxford Psychological Interventions for Children and adolescents (TOPIC) research group to work on a feasibility Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of a brief online parent-led Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) intervention for children (aged 5 to 12 years old) with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The minimum on-site time is 2 days/week About the Role The post is funded from 1 September 2025 to 15 June 2027 and is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology, Anna Watts Building, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Oxford. The post is part-time (80% FTE). You will Support with the day-to-day running of the feasibility RCT (including administrative tasks, supporting with relevant recruitment activities, and liaising with clinical teams). You will carry out qualitative and clinical diagnostic interviews with parents and children to assess and understand problems and experiences of online treatment and trial participation
You will have an undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in psychology, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. With experience of working with families and/or children affected by common mental health problems, you will have proven ability to work and liaise with clinical staff and study team members. Familiarity with treatment for and measure of child anxiety and OCD would be desirable as would experience of conducting assessment/treatments with children and families affected by anxiety and or OCD.
