Full Job Description
This role may involve nationwide travel, and we'd be happy to discuss the expected frequency and typical locations with you. Ideally, you will be based in the Midlands. We trust and empower colleagues to work in a hybrid way, providing the resources, equipment and support, so that individually and collectively, we can be the voice of children and young people when the family court makes critical decisions about their futures. We provide extensive wellbeing support for colleagues, as well as excellent benefits, all of which we hope encourages you to join us. We are a diverse, inclusive organisation that is a safe space for colleagues with shared aspects of identity and lived experience, which helps ensure we provide a service which promotes the diversity and uniqueness of children and families from all backgrounds. We especially welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds as we strive to ensure our workforce reflects the diversity of the children and families we work with. Let us tell you a bit more about the role… As a HR Business Partner, you will be part of our nationally dispersed HR Business Partnering team within the wider HR and OD team. You will work closely with HR colleagues and the Senior HR Management team to delivery operational and strategic HR outcomes, as a genuine Business Partner to senior managers and their extended management teams. This is a great place to work as the HR service is critical to Cafcass achieving the best possible outcomes for children, working as it does in close partnership with operational staff and managers to enable them to deliver outstanding frontline and corporate support services. In terms of what you can expect to be doing in this role, this is likely to include:
- Providing timely, accurate and robust advice and guidance on full range of routine and complex HR issues, including employee relations casework.
- Play a leading role in restructuring and change programme, including project planning, producing business cases and impact assessments and producing HR case plans.
- Provide direct, expert guidance to decision-makers throughout all stages of formal procedures.
- Provide support and expertise to senior HR colleagues to develop, progress and implement people management solutions.
- Forging close and influential working relationships with internal stakeholders.
Experience and knowledge of HR issues, legislation, policies and procedures. - Ability to operate in a high tempo environment, within a complex organisation.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Capability to produce high quality written work.
- Commitment to contribute to the continuous improvement of frontline and corporate support services.
- A strong background in supporting line managers with people management and development issues; and
- A proactive approach to resolving employee relations casework, drawing on your strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Cafcass represents children in family court cases in England. We independently advise the family courts about what is safe for children and in their best interests. We put their needs, wishes and feelings first, making sure that children's voices are heard at the heart of the family court setting. Operating within the law set by Parliament (Criminal Justice and Court Services Act 2000) and under the rules and directions of the family courts, we are independent of the courts, social services, education and health authorities and all similar agencies. Our duty is to safeguard and promote the welfare of children going through the family justice system, supporting over 140,000 children every year by understanding their experiences and speaking up for them when the family court makes critical decisions about their futures. Cafcass is the largest employer of qualified social workers in England and is deeply committed to making a positive difference to each child we support. We are proud that everyone working for Cafcass is united in improving the lives of children, families and carers.
