The successful candidate will work towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification whilst gaining valuable hands-on experience in a thriving primary school environment.

What You'll Do

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, no two days are the same. You will work closely with teachers and pupils across the school, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Typical duties may include:

Supporting pupils in class with their learning activities
Working with small groups or individual children under the guidance of the class teacher
Helping to prepare and organise classroom resources and displays
Assisting with reading, phonics, maths and other curriculum activities
Supporting children during playtimes, lunchtimes and educational visits where appropriate
Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting the school's values
Helping pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills
Assisting with the assessment and recording of pupil progress
Supporting children with additional needs where required

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience of working within a busy and successful primary school while making a real difference to children's education.

Training Outcome

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will have gained a nationally recognised qualification and substantial practical experience working in a school setting.

They will be well placed to:

Apply for Teaching Assistant positions within schools
Progress onto further specialist training or higher-level apprenticeships
Develop a career supporting children and young people in education
Gain the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to work effectively as part of a school staff team
For the right candidate, the apprenticeship could provide a strong foundation for a long-term career in education and may lead to future employment opportunities within the sector
