About the Role
Male Support Worker Location: Blackpool Pay: £14.50 per hour Hours: 08:00am - 08:00pm - You must be able to work 24 hours per week. We're looking for a flexible, compassionate person to join a friendly support team working with a gentleman who is living with an acquired brain injury following a road traffic accident.
About the Person Being Supported
- Enjoys spending time at the pub, playing pool, and visiting the bookies
- Likes a relaxed environment and good conversation
- Smokes in the home (clean and well-kept environment)
- Communicates clearly and appreciates respectful, supportive interaction
- Values people who are down-to-earth, consistent, and respectful
Key Parts of the Role Include
- Supporting mobility with patience and encouragement (uses a walker but is independently mobile)
- Taking to social outings (pool, pub meals, bookmakers, etc.) - mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile
- Companionship at home and during activities
- Light support with daily living tasks
- Promoting independence and choice
What We're Looking For
- A confident driver with access to a car
- Someone patient, steady, and reliable
- Able to work flexibly across days and occasional sleep-ins
- Experience is welcome but not essential - the right attitude matters most
