The successful candidate will be an integral member of the team and will work in a ward-based environment. You will work with an experienced and friendly multidisciplinary team alongside physiotherapists, nurses, GPs, mental health services and social care., Stroud hospital has two wards, providing sub-acute care, rehabilitation and end of life care to patients. Our aim is to enable people to live as independently as possible and the ethos of the team is rehabilitation with a person-led approach to achieve recovery and return home. Much of the role involves assessment of patients with multiple pathologies, implementing rehabilitation goals and coordinating safe discharges for the patients. We pride ourselves on being a creative and innovative team who enjoy the benefits of the autonomous style of working that the wards allow.

In turn you will be well supported with CPD opportunities to develop and grow as a therapist within our organisation. We are looking for a full time or part time occupational therapist, to include Fridays as a working day. The post is fixed term for 18 months but will have the potential to become permanent in future.
We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme.
