Full Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic clinician who is passionate about patients with continence issues. With health promotion being at the forefront of care delivery we are a service which aims to achieve a positive difference to patients' suffering from bladder and bowel dysfunction.
As a Clinical practitioner you will have proven organisational, management and computer skills as well as being able to lead and motivate the Bladder & Bowel Specialist team in delivering a holistic high quality of care. You will be supporting patients, carers, family members by assessing and developing individual plans of care, providing teaching and initiating management strategies. This would include pelvic floor exercise plans, bladder retraining, and bladder scanning and bowel irrigation, reviewing of plans and liaising with other multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams.
As a clinical role model, you will be responsible for delivering bladder & bowel-based training to our community teams and other stakeholders. We are a service looking to re-design and this is an exciting opportunity to assist in this development.
You will be supported by use of local and national guidelines relating to continence care and evidence based practice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a clinically based practitioner who will take a supportive role in strengthening the nursing contribution to patients and service users within the speciality across the organisation.
In partnership with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) the post holder will assist develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service.
Using specialist nursing skills; contributes to the management of a caseload of patients referred for specialist intervention, care and support.
The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of innovative practice, standards of care and strategies to ensure practice development and education for other professionals caring for patients within this speciality.
