Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Warwickshire Dietetic Service for a fixed term maternity leave cover post. The role involves working with adults with learning disabilities in South Warwickshire.
We are looking for someone with experience in learning disabilities to deliver dietetic care to this specialist caseload, as well as to drive forward service development plans, and work on patient resources. You will also provide leadership and support to our band 6 learning disabilities dietitian, and offer support and advice on learning disabilities to other teams in the department.
As well as joining the dietetic team, you will also become an integral part of the Community Learning Disabilities Team at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust. The role involves regular contribution to MDT meetings, Best Interest Decisions, Capacity Assessments, etc.
As this is a community post, you will be expected to travel around South Warwickshire to deliver care, and on occasion travel in North Warwickshire to attend meetings and provide support. We support flexible, and hybrid working, and we have excellent office facilities., To act as the lead dietitian for designated speciality.
To work as an autonomous practitioner to advise on the dietary management of patients on a highly specialist caseload of patients.
Liaise with dietetic colleagues and other members of multidisciplinary teams as necessary e.g. medical, nursing, catering and other health & social care professionals.
Act as a specialist advisor and educator to other healthcare professionals within designated speciality.
To promote the ethos of self-management and prevention to patients, staff and carers to prevent nutritional problems, medical conditions and complications.
