This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain experience across two of its Birmingham branches, GR Pharmacy on Hillwood Road and Aston Chemist on Shenley Lane, while developing valuable skills within a supportive pharmacy team.

What You'll Do

Typical duties for a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprentice could include:

Supporting customers and patients at the pharmacy counter.
Receiving and processing prescriptions.
Preparing and assembling medicines under supervision.
Labelling and dispensing prescriptions accurately.
Ordering, receiving and storing medicines and pharmacy stock.
Checking stock levels and expiry dates.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised pharmacy environment.
Using pharmacy computer systems and maintaining accurate records.
Supporting the wider pharmacy team with day-to-day tasks.
Following pharmacy procedures, confidentiality requirements and health and safety guidance.
Developing knowledge of medicines and common health conditions.
Communicating professionally with patients, customers and healthcare professionals.

Training Outcome

On successful completion of the Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship, the apprentice can progress into a permanent Pharmacy Services Assistant role and continue developing their career within pharmacy. They may also have the opportunity to progress to a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, subject to the relevant entry requirements.
