About the role: Ark Academy is an all-through school based in Wembley, set against the backdrop of the iconic Wembley Stadium, with excellent transport links. At Ark Secondary, we are currently seeking three Learning Support Assistant positions (referred to as an LSA), who will all provide specific and direct support to children with Special Educational needs or a Disability (SEND), ensuring that these children make good progress in all academic areas across all subjects. The position will be with KS3 subjects. Line Managed by the SENCo and working alongside class teachers, Pastoral staff and external professionals to provide in-class support and small-group interventions. These roles require a flexible approach, good organisational and administrative skills. A calm and patient manner are essential, as is a nurturing approach. A good understanding of the academy's teaching and learning and behaviour policies are desirable, and specific training will be provided to support you in the role. The ability to liaise with all staff and the parents of the children you will support is essential and will all form part of your role. The ideal candidate will:
- Have the Right to work in the UK
- Hold GCSE English & Maths grade C and above, or equivalent
- Be experienced in raising or the desire to raise attainment in a challenging classroom environment
- Have proven experience working or the desire to work successfully with students of all abilities
