We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Receptionist / Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team in a busy doctors surgery in Calne, Wiltshire. There are two shift patterns available: A: Tuesday (1:30pm-6:30pm), Wednesday (8:00am-1:00pm), Thursday (8:00am-1:00pm) and Friday (1:30pm-6:30pm) (20 hours per week) B: Tuesday (8:30am-6:30pm), Wednesday (2pm-7:30pm) and Thursday (2pm-7:30pm) (20 hours per week),

Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
Initiating contact with, and responding to, requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately
Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
Scanning hospital and other healthcare professional correspondence
Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter

You will need to deal with people at all levels in a calm and courteous manner, even when under pressure.
