Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Receptionist / Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team in a busy doctors surgery in Calne, Wiltshire. There are two shift patterns available: A: Tuesday (1:30pm-6:30pm), Wednesday (8:00am-1:00pm), Thursday (8:00am-1:00pm) and Friday (1:30pm-6:30pm) (20 hours per week) B: Tuesday (8:30am-6:30pm), Wednesday (2pm-7:30pm) and Thursday (2pm-7:30pm) (20 hours per week),
- Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
- Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
- Initiating contact with, and responding to, requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
- Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately
- Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
- Scanning hospital and other healthcare professional correspondence
- Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
You will need to deal with people at all levels in a calm and courteous manner, even when under pressure. We are looking for strong team players who enjoy a challenge.
