Full Job Description

  • Promoting volunteer opportunities through community networks, local organisations, events and online platforms
  • Recruiting and onboarding volunteer hosts, including interviews, references, DBS checks and home assessments
  • Assessing applicants' suitability and contributing to recruitment decisions
  • Delivering training, supervision and ongoing support
  • Building strong relationships with volunteers to support engagement and retention
  • Developing partnerships with voluntary and statutory organisations
  • Representing Nightstop at meetings and community events
  • Maintaining accurate volunteer and guest records
  • Supporting monitoring, reporting, data collection and financial administration
  • Sharing learning and helping to develop best practice across the Nightstop network
  • You will participate in an on-call rota and occasionally work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends.

    We are seeking an organised and engaging Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train and support volunteer hosts helping young people facing homelessness., You will have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers, along with an understanding of safer recruitment and safeguarding. You will also bring:
  • An understanding of homelessness and the challenges people experiencing it may face
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence engaging communities, stakeholders and prospective volunteers
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and changing demands
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal and external partners
  • Confidence using databases, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • The ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
