Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the UCL East Campus team as a Venue Operations Administrator, supporting the delivery of a high-quality, hospitality-led service within the Management Education Suite. The suite is a dedicated teaching and events space used for MBA programmes, executive education and short courses, often delivered in intensive block formats. It is a busy, high-profile environment where attention to detail and a proactive approach are key. You will act as the front-of-house presence for the space, ensuring it is always welcoming, well-presented and ready for use. This is a hands-on role, combining customer service, facilities coordination and operational support. From managing bookings and responding to enquiries, to preparing rooms, supporting events and maintaining the overall presentation of the space, you will play a central role in ensuring a seamless user experience. Working largely independently on site, you will build strong relationships with a wide range of users, including academic staff, students, professional services colleagues and external visitors, while also liaising with central teams such as cleaning, catering and security. This role is fully campus-based at UCL East, Monday to Friday.

You will bring experience from a front-of-house, hospitality, events or customer service environment, with a strong focus on delivering a high-quality user experience. Organised and proactive, you are comfortable managing a shared inbox, coordinating bookings and balancing multiple priorities. You take pride in maintaining well-presented spaces and are happy working in a hands-on role that includes practical tasks such as room set-up and light facilities support. You are confident working independently and using your judgement to respond to day-to-day issues, while knowing when to escalate where needed. Your communication skills are strong, allowing you to engage effectively with a wide range of people and explain processes clearly to non-specialist audiences. A positive and flexible approach is key, along with a genuine commitment to customer service and continuous improvement. You will be someone who notices the detail, takes ownership of your space, and ensures that every user has a smooth and welcoming experience.

UCL is a radically different university. Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, we were the first university in England to welcome students of any religion and the first to welcome women to university education. Today UCL has over 50,000 students and more than 18,000 staff and is one of the world's top universities. We are ranked second in the UK for research power and first in London (REF 2021). UCL East is UCL's largest campus expansion, based on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. Designed as an open, outward-facing campus, it brings together education, research, culture and community in a unique and dynamic environment. The Office of the Vice-Provost (Strategy) oversees the development and day-to-day running of the campus, supporting a wide range of teaching, research and engagement activity. Within this, the Campus team plays a key role in delivering a high-quality experience for all who use the space.
