Job Title: Supply Chain Specialist


Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth (HMNBP)


Service Area: Commercial & Supply Chain


Hours of Work: 37 Per week


Contract Type: Permanent


Salary: £34,000 - 38,000


What you will be doing:


We have an excellent opportunity to join our supply chain team as Supply Chain Specialist - experience within supply chain isn't necessary but to succeed in the role you will have a background within account management, commercial relationship management, supply chain, contract management or similar. You will be responsible for sourcing, managing, and improving the supply chain for a wide range of services needed across the dockyard, ensuring suppliers can reliably support operational and business requirements.


You'll support with contract management, supplier performance tracking, tender activity, and data-driven decision-making to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement. Supporting the implementation of supply chain strategies that align with business objectives, helping to reduce sub-contract spend, streamline transactional workloads, and deliver the best value.


What you will bring:



  • Experience within an account management, commercial relationship management, supply chain, contract management or similar role

  • Proven strong stakeholder management experience

  • Good supplier/customer relationship skills

  • Commercial awareness

  • Proven ability to develop effective business partnerships

  • Basic understanding of Public Sector procurement principles and routes to market

You demonstrate a proactive, solution-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvements. Applies sound judgement to prioritise workloads effectively, develop best practices and deliver results in a fast-paced and changing environment. Utilises strong interpersonal and organisational skills, to ensure that tasks are completed in line with company policies, procedures, and business strategy. Acts as a champion for Supply Chain, promoting best practice and helping to raise awareness and adherence to Supply Chain policies and procedures.
