Full Job Description

  • Collaborate effectively within the department to deliver a professional clinical laboratoryservice.
  • Perform core scientific and interpretive work in line with the qualifications of a Registered Healthcare Scientist.
  • Participate in appropriate training courses and continuous professional development (CPD) programs.
  • Supervise unqualified staff and deputise for section leaders as needed.
  • Provide specialist clinical technical services, including involvement in research and audit activities.
  • Delivery of comprehensive diagnostic services while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

    A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientist to join our friendly and dedicated Clinical Biochemistry and Serology team at Charing Cross Hospital. The vacancy is in the clinical Biochemistry Department and the successful candidate will be trained on both departments.
  • The laboratory is covered 24 hours every day and the successful candidate would be expected to participate in the day worker rota that will require to work on weekend days on rotational basis. Day staff are also expected to cover night shifts based on service requirment. Staffs' are expected to travel across our six hospital sites when required. The laboratory has IBMS training approval for training for Registration and Specialist Portfolios in Blood Sciences.Previous experience in a multi-discipline environment and automated instruments or Abbott Alinity would be an advantage. NWLP Induction The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
