Full Job Description

We are looking for a quantitative health researcher to join Born in Bradford and be part of the NIHR Research Support Service's Specialist Centre for Public Health. You will meet with clients of the NIHR Research Support Service, particularly to strengthen funding applications. There is training and support and it is an excellent way to build your research skills, network, awareness of research funding, and to be embedded in Born in Bradford. You will be part of a group of quantitative public health researchers. We focus on career progression and will facilitate contribution to existing research projects and/or development of your own agenda.,

  • Support the work of the NIHR Research Support Service Specialist Centre for Public Health.
  • Meet with clients of the NIHR Research Support Service Specialist Centre for Public Health.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior members of staff.
  • Write reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals, acting as lead author.
  • Recruit and manage research fellows and support staff when required.
  • Design and facilitate training sessions relating to epidemiology.
  • Develop and register research protocols, using epidemiological study designs.
  • Do literature reviews.
  • Do statistical analyses using techniques such as matching, regression, and standardisation.
  • Use visualisations to describe data.
  • Contribute to research projects led by colleagues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external researchers and partners.
  • Identify sources of funding and write grant applications.
  • Present research at meetings and conferences.
  • Undertaking personal development in keeping with the aspiration to be a senior researcher
  • Contribute to a Born in Bradford collaborative team culture, ensuring success of Born in Bradford.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current legislation regarding participation in research, including Good Clinical Practice, Research Governance and Data Protection.
